If you are a cyclist living in Nagano Prefecture, everyone thinks about going around Lake Suwa.  The Around is about 16 kilometers.  Lake Suwa is famous for its fireworks.  About half a million visitors come to the fireworks display at Obon Vacation and launch 40,000 fireworks.  Because the fireworks of the Sumidagawa River is 20,000 fireworks, it is understand how how large scale.  The reason why Lake Suwa became famous for fireworks is that there was a lot of fireworks masters in Nagano Prefecture since ancient times.  (Photo / Hatsushima Island where fireworks are launched)
諏訪湖一周は、長野県に住んでいるサイクリストなら一度は周ってみたいと考えるコースだ。周囲約16㎞を湖畔沿いに進む。諏訪湖といえば花火―　と思い浮かべる人は多いだろう。お盆の花火大会は約50万人の観客を集め、４万発の花火を打ち上げる。隅田川が２万発なので、どれだけ大規模なのかわかる。諏訪湖が花火のメッカになったのは、信州には昔から花火師が多く住んでいたからのようだ。（写真／花火の打ち上げ場所にもなる初島）

諏訪湖一周を時計回りで行くか、反時計回りにするか。左側走行である自転車のセオリーは、海は時計周り、湖は反時計周りとされるが、諏訪湖の場合は余り関係なく、どこにポイントを置くか人それぞれのプランによって決めればいい。今回、標高767㍍と諏訪湖周辺の駅では最も高い下諏訪駅を起点とするが、最も低い上諏訪駅の標高も約762㍍なのでその差はほとんどなく、どこの駅を起点にしても構わない。（写真は上諏訪駅） 

Stone Buddha of Manji that artist · late Taro Okamoto acknowledged that "There is no such unique thing".  It is located next to the north of Suwa Taisha Shimosha Harumiya.  Proceeding deep along the Togawa River, Stone Buddha of Manji standing quietly in a place surrounded by small fields.  The fuselage is one big rock and it is deep.  Clothes worn by a Buddhist priest, called "Kesa" is carved on the front.  There is a head on the rock.  It's not elaborate, however it's a big, friendly Stone Buddha.
芸術家・岡本太郎が「こんなユニークなものはない」。そう絶賛した万治の石仏。諏訪大社下社春宮の北隣にある。砥川沿いに奥へ進むと小さな田んぼと畑に囲まれた場所に万治の石仏は静かに佇んでいる。胴体はひとつの大きな岩になっていて意外と奥行きがあり、正面には袈裟らしい彫刻が施されている。その岩に頭が乗せてある。決して精巧なつくりではないが、大きいだけに和やかで、庶民感覚の親しみのある石仏だ。

In the rowing field in Shimosuwa town, the players who seemed to be high school students practice canoeing.  The boat proceeds to the back of the four rowers, and the Wheelman, called Cox in the point of the boat, leads to the shortest route.  If the crew's breathing is combined, it will move forward powerfully.

下諏訪町の漕艇場では、高校生らしき選手たちがカヌーの練習している。艇は４人の漕手の後ろ側に進み、船首にいるコックスと呼ばれる舵手が、最短の航路へ誘導する。クルーの呼吸を合わせることができれば、力強く水面を蹴立てることができるのだろう。 

There is a lake side park near Okaya Minami High School.  In the spacious park the lawn was maintained,Parents and children are playing badminton and catch ball.  In the baseball field, boys are playing games, parents watching it.
岡谷南高等学校付近は湖畔公園が広がる。広々とした空間に芝生が整備され、親子がバトミントンやキャッチボールなどして遊んでいる。野球場では少年野球の試合をしていて、それを日向ぼっこを兼ねた人々が観戦をしている。 

I looking at the Tenryu River, just born from the Kamaguti water gate.  There are 31 rivers that flow into the Lake Suwa, however only one of the Tenryugawa River flows out.  The water flowing out from here goes on a long journey of 213 kilometers to the Enshu Nada in Shizuoka Prefecture.

釜口水門から産まれたばかりの天竜川を望む。諏訪湖に流入する河川は31本あるが、流れ出すのは天竜川１本だけ。ここから流れ出た水は静岡県の遠州灘まで213㎞の長い旅に出る。
