Pottering report of a bicycle in YUDANAKA&OBUSE. Vol.２

Go through Yudanaka Onsen and go up the slope for a while, however eventually there is an entrance to Shibu Onsen on your right.  There is a third "Nishikino‐yu" When I slowly advance the hot spring town which was maintained in the stone pavement.  Shibu Onsen is famous for visiting a public bathhouse, and guests visit nine hot springs in hopes that they will not get sick.  The bathroom will is full if 3 people are included, however everyone will concessions and take a bath.  (Photo is the first "Hatsu-yu" seen from alley)
湯田中温泉を抜け、しばらくは坂道を上るが、やがて右手下方に渋温泉の入口がある。石畳みに整備された温泉街をゆっくりと進むと三番湯「錦の湯」の建物がある。渋温泉は外湯巡りが評判で宿泊客は無病息災を願って９つの湯を巡る。中は３人も入ればいっぱいの小さな浴槽だが、譲り合って入浴する（写真は路地からみた一番湯「初湯」）。

On the way, there is an uninhabited facility called "Utakoi" hall.  It is a free space that introduces the history of Shibu Onsen, however is surprising to have a table tennis table.  In Japan, there were a lot of hot-spring trips in organizations, and many people enjoyed table tennis (photo above).  To have been wearing yukata still at this time is probably a customer staying all the time.  I envy to take a walk in the hot spring town slowly.  The old-fashioned vegetable shop, which I do not see much now, has recommended fruits to tourists.  It is also reason why Shibu Onsen are popular to remain such a friendly and lovely. 途中、「歌恋会館」という無人の施設がある。こには、渋温泉の歴史を紹介した写真が飾られたフリースペースだが、何といっても印象的なのは卓球台があることだろう。松坂慶子主演の映画「卓球温泉」があるように、温泉にはなぜか卓球台がよく似合う（写真上）。 この時間にまだ浴衣を着ているということは、おそらく連泊している客だろう。ゆっくりと温泉街を散歩していて羨ましい。今ではあまり見かけなくなった昔ながらの青果店の店先では、観光客に声を掛け、自慢の果物を勧めている。こうした気さくな触れ合いが残るのも渋温泉が人気の理由だろう（写真下）。

The ninth "Oo-yu".  Neighbor Ryokan's entrance has hot-spring eggs and invites tourists.  It seems that the spa springs and beautiful lustrous taste delicious.
九番湯の「大湯」、隣の旅館の店頭には温泉たまごが客寄せをしている。湧き出た温泉に見事なつやで温泉客の食欲をそそる。 

Going through the hot spring town, you will find the Onsen Temple in a high place.  When I go up the stairs and enter the precincts, there is a beautiful garden, and there are autumn leaves.  It seems as if it is wrapped in transparent air of ancient times, it is refreshing.  There is a kettle bath in the precincts, there is a sauna to lie down and relax.  (The altitude of the Onsen Temple is about 690 meters)
温泉街を抜けると東奥の一段高い場所に温泉寺がある。石段を上り境内に入って行くと壮麗な庭があり、色づきはじめた木々が迎えてくれる。まるで古の済んだ空気に包まれているようで、気が引き締まる思いだ。境内には、信玄かま風呂があり、横になってくつろげる和式サウナがある。（温泉寺の標高は約690㍍）

Alley that leads to Yokoyu River from the back side of Oo-yu.  There is an alley back culture in the charm of Shibu Onsen.  Although it is thrilling to enter a little dark alleys, there are many alleys in Shibu Onsen, and I am excited to encounter an unexpected place that I shot cut.   "There is a shop in such a place ! ", There is a new discovery.
大湯の裏側から横湯川方面に通じる路地。渋温泉の魅力に路地裏文化がある。道と道と結ぶ、ちょっと暗い路地に分け入るにはややスリリングな気分だが、渋温泉には多くの路地があり、はからずも近道になったり、思わぬ場所に出たりしてワクワクする。「こんなところにお店があるの」といった新しい発見も楽しめる。

There was another purpose for this trip.  There was a program to pick up womens who are active in spirit of NHK, and Mrs. Haruko who runs coffee shop "Shinano-ji" at Shibu Onsen was introduced.  I visited around 11:00 am o'clock.  After the customer who stayed at hot Spring Inn was departing, she was thinking of closing the shop.  That program was broadcast, and a lot of customers came and it was serious.  It finally came back to normal, but finally I was glad that it became a good advertisement for Shibu Onsen.  She was born in this land and was a ski player when young. however She has been keeping a shop for 40 years, "I do not offer coffee for drunkards" she said. after a guest comes, she grind the beans.  Because she is a break time, I leave the store early.

今回のポタにはもうひとつの目的があった。 偶然観たNHKの全国ネットで、元気で活躍する女性たちを取り上げる番組があり、その一人に、渋温泉の路地でコーヒー店「信濃路」を営む春子おばあちゃんが紹介されていた。訪れたのは11時頃、ちょうど宿泊客が出発し一段落して店を閉めようとしたところだった。あの番組以来、大勢の客が押し寄せて大変。ようやく最近になって落ち着きを戻してきたと笑ったが、渋温泉のいい宣伝になったと喜んでいた。この土地に生まれ、若い頃はスキーの選手だったらしい。もう40年も店を営んでいるが、「酔っ払いにはコーヒーを飲ませない」という主義で、お客様が来てから豆をひくこだわりぶりだ。休憩時間に長居は無用と思い、早々に切り上げた。
